South Farm, Cambridgeshire’s leading wedding venue, has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Countryside Wedding Venue of The Year, East of England in The Wedding Industry Awards 2016.

Christine Lyons, one of South Farm’s owners, Becky Duncan, General Manager and South Farm’s team of Wedding Planners and Event Managers were at the award ceremony on Monday 16th November and were thrilled to receive their regional award. This now puts South Farm in the coveted position of National Finalist with a well-deserved seat in the category of Countryside Wedding Venue of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards 2016. The National Final will take place on Thursday 14th January 2016 in the spectacular surroundings of the Cafe de Paris, set in the heart of London’s West End. The event is a unique opportunity to toast the very best of the wedding industry and will signal an amazing start to the New Year for South Farm.

South Farm’s motto is “Distinctly Different”. White peacocks strut around the beautiful grounds, brides can take a Tuk tuk to the altar, guests eat organic produce grown and reared on site and cooked to the moment. Couples can choose indoors or outdoors for their ceremony, sleep in a genuine Romany Waggon or the romantic duplex Bridal Suite and enjoy the extensive gardens that shine through every season whilst being uniquely entertained by rare breed piglets in the barnyard.

Becky Duncan said upon receiving the award “We feel amazing, it’s the first time we have ever entered something like this and everyone is really thrilled. We can’t thank those who voted for us and the judging panel enough.”

Editors Note: South Farm is a family owned and run specialist wedding venue. The Paxman family have lived there for over 40 years and started hosting weddings ten years ago. Now they number amongst the elite handful of venues nationally that consistently host over 200 weddings a year (see www.southfarm.co.uk/availability) Rather more than just a barn, South Farm’s visitor facilities include the main house, an ancient listed barnyard with no less than three barns, a granary, dairy and stables, extensive gardens and a thriving organic smallholding which supplies much of the produce used in the kitchen. Couples enjoy exclusive use. General information on availability, menus, prices, accommodation and the venue may be found at www.south-farm.co.uk along with details of what’s blooming in the garden, growing in the smallholding and cooking in the kitchen.
