Georgia and Broc got married in September 2018 and had a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by the most wonderful day shared with their loved ones. We remember their wedding day like it was yesterday and we loved catching up with them again and hearing all about the story of their garden and barn wedding – how they discovered our country wedding venue in Hertfordshire and the excitement and build up to their big day and how they felt on the day itself!

Date of your wedding: 06/09/2018        Time of your ceremony: 2:00pm

How and when did you meet? We met when we were 15/16 years old back in 2004. Broc was at my neighbour’s house for the weekend and we met over the garden fence!!

What are the areas of South Farm that you used for your big day: The bridal party got ready in the Bridal Suite. We got married outside and used most of the outside area for photos and drinks/canapés.
We had dinner in the Tudor Barn with tea and coffee in the old dairy. The evening was in the Tudor Barn too

Were there any colours or themes to your day? Our colour scheme was nudes, blush pinks and rose gold.

How did you choose the venue? South Farm was the first venue we saw. We came to an open evening during the summer and the weather was amazing that day! As soon as we walked through we immediately knew it was the one. We didn’t look anywhere else!

How did you feel on the day? So so happy but also nervous and emotional! Strange to feel nervous after being together for so long!
It is the happiest feeling seeing your day come together in such a beautiful venue and everyone you love and cherish finally share your special day. It’s the best feeling ever.

Tell us about your special day: From start to finish, for us, it was perfect. We were so happy we were able to get married outside, everything looked even more beautiful than we envisioned, the venue went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and we felt truly special on our day.We got married outside with drinks and canapés followed by dinner in the Tudor Barn. Everything flowed so beautifully, the food was amazing, we couldn’t decide on just one course so we went for the buffet option which we were so pleased about! Three years on our guests remember how great the food was! We had tea and coffee in the Old Dairy which was so beautiful too. We left our guests to get some more photos in the rain and these photos are up there with our favourites! We had the evening disco in the Tudor Barn with hog roast for our evening food.
Every single person had the best time and there is nothing I would change about our day.

Was there one particular moment that stood out for you?

Georgia I remember getting ready upstairs in the Bridal Suite and my sister told me the groomsmen had arrived. I looked out the window and I could see Broc looking at the Summer House all set up. He didn’t know I could see him and I felt so emotional. Such a perfect room to get ready in.
Broc- Sitting at the top table to have dinner and taking it all in. Seeing everyone we love all together in one room is the best feeling.

How did you choose your bridesmaids? I had my two sisters as my maid of honours and my two closest childhood friends as bridesmaids.

How did you pick your best men and ushers? Broc had his brother as his best man and his closest friends and cousin as ushers.

What did you wear? An ivory off the shoulder lace dress with floor length veil. The men had blue suits with blush pink ties and pocket squares to match the bridesmaids dresses. Just the groom and best man had a grey waistcoat to look a bit different to the others!

What are your top tips for other couples? Remember that your wedding day is about YOU. Don’t stress about pleasing your guests too much when making choices for your day! Prioritise what is most important for you on your big day and choose what you like. We learnt that your guests are just happy to be there and celebrate with you!
Make sure you take a moment to reflect and take it all in – it all goes so fast!

Where did you go/where do you plan to go on honeymoon?

We went to a resort in Abu Dhabi with our little boy and it was amazing.

Suppliers – who did you use?

Venue and catering: South Farm of course ! So helpful, supportive and passionate to make your day exactly how you want it. The menu tasting evening and everything leading up to your day is so amazing, we wish we could do it all over again.

Photographer: Andrew Murley – Murley & Maples Photography. Andrew captured our day so perfectly! As a couple we don’t enjoy having our photo taken but we felt so guided and at ease the whole day.

Videographer: OW Productions- Olly Wilkes – could not recommend Olly enough! We didn’t even notice him filming throughout the day and everything he captured was so amazing. Such a good way to relive your day. We still love to watch this back now.

Dress: Justin Alexander

Grooms & Groomsmen outfits: Blue suits – Zara. Ties and pocket squares – Swagger & Swoon

Bridesmaid dresses: Nadine Marabou

Cake: Hertford Cake Company – Shannon was so helpful with the choice of our cake! From our amazing taster cupcakes to drawing up ideas and helping make decisions. The cake looked just how we wanted and tasted amazing too.

Hair: I was lucky a close friend of mine did my hair for me. She doesn’t normally do wedding hair but did mine for me especially 🙂

Makeup:  Mellisa Malster – The Be Beautiful Salon – Mel was so amazing and made us all feel so at ease with how we wanted to look and feel. Such a talented makeup artist.

Flowers: Jane Maples Flowers – I could not recommend Jane enough. Flowers were an important part for me but I didn’t even know where to start other than what colours I wanted. After just one meeting with Jane the ideas she drew up were incredible and seeing it come to life was even better. We had sweet avalanche roses, white hydrangeas and eucalyptus in the bouquets which became a theme throughout in the Tudor Barn for the centre pieces. We also had the most beautiful heart made with all of the same colours which we used where we got married and also in the Tudor Barn after. There was so much more around the venue that Jane created to bring it all together too.We still love looking back at how everything looked on our day!

We also had a flower wall supplied by Bubbles and Blooms

Entertainment: South Farms’ house DJ – DJ Gary, Titan Roadshow
