Our Smallholding Community Project

We consider ourselves very lucky to have our own Smallholding and as most of you know we operate a field to fork ethos here at South Farm, growing much of the food used in our wedding menus in our very diverse smallholding.  However, as weddings are currently off the agenda, we thought it would be a great idea to put all of our home-grown produce to good use.

We’ve started an exciting project to help people in our community in these difficult times.

We’ve retained some of our smallholding staff and enlisted a team of enthusiastic volunteers to join in growing lots of fruit, vegetables and producing eggs in the smallholding which will then be donated to anyone in our community who may be at risk in these troublesome times.  We’ve teamed up with some of the wonderful people in our Parish to ensure this can be distributed to any vulnerable members of our community and the NHS staff and other essential workers to whom we all owe so much. If there is more to spare then we will spread the joy further! We feel it’s the least we can do and are really looking forward to distributing our first home grown food parcels very soon.

We had many compliments about the food with one guest saying it was by far the best wedding food he had ever had!
