Confit Duck Spring Roll, Pickled Cucumber & Carrot Salad, Duck Sauce
One of our most popular starters, slowly confit marinated duck wrapped in spring roll pastry. Crispy on the outside and soft and rich on the inside. Duck sauce with fermented soy and salted plums adds a little extra sweetness. The addition a pickled vegetables adds freshness to this Asian inspired starter.
Cured & Charred Mackerel, Smoked Mackerel Pate, pickled Rhubarb, Watercress
Fantastically delicious, versatile mackerel is a real treat and our mackerel is sustainably sourced too. This amazing starter pairs brined and charred loin of mackerel fillet with creamy mackerel pate, refreshingly zingy rhubarb and peppery watercress.

Blue Cheese Torte, Roasted Baby Plum Tomatoes, Balsamic
A treat for cheese lovers. Glazed creamy blue cheese filling in a crispy buttery pastry case is one of our classics and a pleasing favourite! Topped with roasted baby plum tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic reduction it creates harmonious flavours that delight.

- Glazed Fennel & Quinoa Salad, Orange & Tahini Dressing – Gluten Free Fennel cooked two ways – Sous Vide with orange and star anise and shaved fresh to contrast textures. Soft and subtle meets crisp and fresh – delicious! Served on herbed quinoa with orange and tahini dressing
- Salt Baked Celeriac, Celeriac Remoulade, Pear & Hazlenuts – Gluten Free Celeriac gets the royal treatment, wrapped and cooked inside a salt crust intensifying it’s natural earthiness and fragrance. Combined with sweet crunchy pear and toasted hazelnuts, the harmony of flavours and textures is a real delight!
- Pumpkin & Truffle Croquette, Carrot & Cucumber Salad Truffle and pumpkin is a proven and tested flavour combination. The crunchy fried croquette is accompanied by fresh and acidic raw carrot and cucumber salad. Delicious!
- Sag Chard Polenta, Squash Rosti, Tamarind Glaze, Chilli & Coconut A popular South Farm classic dish that has stood the test of time! Chards cooked with aromatic herbs served between layers of polenta and squash rosti. Drizzled with sweet and sour Tamarind glaze and coconut milk.
- Heritage Tomatoes Salad, Basil & Balsamic Jelly – Gluten Free Our delicious Heritage tomatoes of all shapes and sizes are the perfect way to start your meal. With sweet and tangy varieties, soft and firm, the array of tomatoes macerated with basil and virgin olive oil is a classical marriage of flavour made in heaven! (available mid-July to mid-October)

Red Kuri Squash, Ricotta & Sage Ravioli, Basil Pesto, Parmesan Crisp
Freshly made ravioli stuffed with smooth kuri squash filling, finished with aromatic nutty basil pesto and salty parmesan crips and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Our homegrown red kuri squash is in season October – February. Out of season we prepare and freeze the squash filling so you can enjoy this delicious starter all year round!

Chargrilled Lemon Chicken, Fennel Salad, Sweet & Sour Dill Dressing
Beautifully fresh, this starter is a real treat! Lemon marinated chicken is finished on the grill to add subtle charred flavour married with super fresh fennel salad to add texture and clean, gentle anise flavours. The dish is dressed in a sweet yet sour dressing that adds great harmony. Delicious!
