We are excited to be able to start hosting weddings again soon and we have a VERY busy season ahead of us!! We have a number of positions available and if you would like to be part of our friendly professional team and make a difference to someone’s special day then we would love to hear from you!
We provide a bespoke and flexible service to our couples, incorporating extensive menus using seasonal produce from our eight acre small holding, eggs from our chickens and pork from our kune kune pigs – all created on site by our in-house catering team. With a very busy season ahead of us, our appeal is the idyllic country setting, superlative home grown food and fantastic planning and front of house service delivered in a friendly and professional way.
Front of House Team Members
We provide a very professional service to our clients and always aim to be flexible, transparent and deliver above expectations in everything we do. The successful applicant will need some relevant experience and no matter what your role at South Farm we expect everyone to work together as a team, have fun and work in a professional, trustworthy and reliable manner. We are looking for open- minded team players with lots of enthusiasm.
Duties may include:
– Food Service & Waiting Duties (including Breakfast)
– Event set up
– Keeping public areas tidy and General cleaning of the venue
– Serving drinks and canapés, tea and coffee
– Possible bar work
We usually stagger the start times of shifts so you may be able to opt for one that suits you best. Start times vary from 12 noon until 5pm and finish is usually between 7pm and 9pm – but every event is different!
Please note that we generally only employ people aged 17 or over and, as we are a rural venue, your own transport is essential as there are no public services.

Assistant Bar Managers (over 18s only)
We are looking for someone with bar experience including ordering, cashing up & locking up, who has enthusiasm and a positive and mature can-do attitude as well as a good work ethic. The successful candidate will be working alongside our bar manager and bar team to ensure that the evening runs smoothly and take responsibility for the site, guests and staff once the Event Manager leaves.
This is a responsible key holder role with flexible hours suited to someone who would enjoy a customer-facing role and wants to be part of a friendly, professional and busy Team.
The role is permanent but flexible based on our wedding schedule and demand. The role will involve frequent weekend and evening work with the possibility to train as an overnight manager in addition.
We are offering a competitive salary depending on age and experience. Full Training will be provided including First Aid and Fire Training. Personal Licence holder would be preferable but not essential.

Overnight Managers (over 18s only)
We are looking for someone with previous experience in leading a team to work overnight to clean and prepare the venue for the following day. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of working as part of a small team to get the job completed within a timely manner with impeccable attention to detail. This role is a hands-on job and you will be working alongside the night team to clean the venue following on from a Wedding ready for the next day’s event. This will include cleaning the public areas, kitchens and laying tables ready for the following morning.
This is a responsible key holder role with flexible hours suited to someone who wants to be part of a friendly and busy team whilst being responsible for site, staff and overnight guests.
The role is permanent but flexible based on our wedding schedule and demand. The role will involve frequent weekend and anti-social hours with the possibility to train as an Assistant Bar manager in addition.
We are offering a competitive salary depending on age and experience, with higher rates of pay for anti-social hours. Full Training will be provided including First Aid and Fire Training.

Casual Overnight Staff

Kitchen Assistants provide essential support in ensuring that all areas and equipment in the kitchen and prep areas are kept clean and hazard free. Working days are varied and duties can include:
* Kitchen preparation at the beginning of the day, putting away of deliveries, the operation of the dishwashing machine, cleaning pots, pans, crockery, glasses, etc.
* General cleaning duties inside and outside, deep cleaning duties, cleaning and deep cleaning of fridges, walk-in fridges, and walk-in freezers, sweeping and washing floors as required, along with any other tasks as requested by the Head Chef.
* Covid safety related cleaning tasks, for example frequent cleaning of handles, contact areas, doors, etc.
* Some food preparation work will be expected and you will also be assisting in the plating up of dishes alongside our team of chefs and other kitchen porters.
* Helping with moving set up equipment, chairs, tables, etc.
Experience of working in a similar environment, knowledge of COSHH and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be given. This job will involve some heavy lifting and working with chemicals.
The role is based on a 37.5 hr week, including evenings and weekends. There is always a lot to do in peak times of year (April to September) so plenty more hours are available for those that wish to work more. We offer a competitive salary including paid overtime depending on age and experience including holiday pay and meals on duty when applicable.
