Kitchen Assistant/Porter Position Available
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Porter to reinforce our current team.
Kitchen Assistants provide essential support in ensuring that all areas and equipment in the kitchen and prep areas are kept clean and hazard free. Working days are varied and duties can include kitchen preparation at the beginning of the day, the operation of the dish washing machine, cleaning pots, pans, crockery and glasses and sweeping and washing floors as required, along with any other tasks as requested by the Head Chef. Some food preparation work will be expected and you will also be assisting in the plating up of dishes alongside our team of six chefs and other kitchen porters.
Experience of working in a similar environment, knowledge of COSHH and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be given. This job will involve some heavy lifting and working with chemicals.
Our ideal candidate would be friendly and motivated with a positive working attitude and be able to communicate well with other team members. Previous relevant experience in a busy and productive commercial kitchen would be a bonus but not necessary.
We are located 10 minutes from Royston in a rural area and candidates will need their own transport.
The role is based on a 37.5 hr week and will involve weekend and evening work. Salary dependent on experience and suitable candidates will need fluent English.

Part Time Positions:
We are particularly looking for candidates who can work during term time and are not restricted by college or university commitments – we have a great pool of students who work during the holidays but we need people who can work all year round not just during the holidays!!
We are always looking for local people to join our pool of casual staff. We offer a very flexible working arrangement. Each month staff are sent a list of the shifts available, they respond indicating which they are available for and we then allocate shifts and email shift allocations.
We are always interested in recruiting people for the following roles:
- Event set up
- General cleaning of the venue
- Serving drinks and canapés, tea and coffee
We usually stagger the start times of shifts so you will be able to opt for one that suits you best. Start time vary from 12 noon until 5pm and finish is usually between 7pm and 9pm.
Please note that we generally only employ people aged 18 or over.
We are looking for more housekeeping staff to join our award winning team! Housekeeping will normally carry out morning shifts, other than deep clean days.
Bar and Overnight Supervisor
If you are over 18, local, with good work ethics and after a casual but responsible role with flexible hours then please get in touch. £7 – £12 per hour (depending on experience and time of shifts)
