The Tudor Barn

This splendid building, elm framed, owes its survival to our Wedding guests, for without extensive restoration in 2004/5 it would have collapsed. The new plinth, the pillars for the six venerable main beams and the bar are built with old hand made bricks recovered from the floor. Dating we believe from Tudor times, it should now have another lease of hundreds of years life ahead. The floors are carpeted and the ceilings draped, providing you with a majestic yet soft space to enjoy your wedding breakfast.

The Barn, measuring 60 foot by 30, with four bays, makes a grand and impressive setting for the Wedding Ceremony and is licensed for up to 146, for the Wedding Breakfast it provides formal seating for 146 and for a party, up to 200.

Seating plans

Table plans are quite flexible. Brides often choose an oval top table, which we recommend as it is much friendlier than a traditional one-sided banqueting table. Up to 100 guests can sit at round tables, above that number banqueting tables fill the aisles with round tables down the centre.

The heart of the site

The Barn forms the core of South Farm’s many and varied entertaining spaces. It is always gratifying for us to hear the intake of breath when newcomers first enter. It never fails to impress, whether dressed with abundant flowers or simply speaking for itself.

The Kitchens

Winter squash sketchOur state of the art banqueting kitchens abut the end gable. The kitchens are the very first in the county to achieve the coveted Elite Status for consecutively achieving a Food Hygiene Rating of Five Stars from Scores on the Doors. They also facilitate exceptional service timed to perfection and we are proud of the fact that we can cater for any event and offer an extensive range of menus.
