South Farm is a successful and unique wedding venue located in beautiful rural surroundings in South West Cambridgeshire. The business is a well-established and successful family run enterprise run by James and Philip Paxman and Christine Lyon. We are the largest wedding business in Cambridgeshire with a good forward order book and are therefore lucky enough to be able to offer secure jobs in the tough times ahead.

Current Vacancies:
We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
Event Manager/Customer Showrounds £8.50 - £9.50
Involves wedding & event management and showing prospective customers the venue. Mainly weekend work on a flexi part time arrangement. Ideally local to us to avoid long travel time.
Event Management involves coordinating the ceremony including registrars and key bridal party, running the food service, managing a team of up to 15 staff members and being the face of the front of house operation.
Customer showrounds involve meeting prospective clients (at weekends), showing them the whole venue as well as giving detailed information on how the wedding day runs. You would then be expected to compile a cost estimate for them based on their ideas and requirements.
In house training will be provided and there may also be opportunities to receive external training to gain other qualifications. Applicants must be English speaking. In line with the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility.

Part time positions:
We are always looking for local people to join our pool of casual staff. We offer a very flexible working arrangement. Each month staff are sent a list of the shifts available, they respond indicating which they are available for and we then allocate shifts and email shift allocations.
We are always interested in recruiting people for the following roles:
Waiter/Waitress £6.10 / hr upwards
- Event set up
- Waitressing
- General cleaning of the venue
- Serving drinks and canapés, tea and coffee
We usually stagger the start times of shifts so you will be able to opt for one that suits you best. Start time vary from 12 noon until 5pm and finish is usually between 7pm and 9pm.
Housekeeping Staff £6.10 / hr upwards
The main focus of this role is to help service the bedrooms the morning after a wedding. Most usually this is done between 10.30am and 12 noon. The shift will usually start at 9.30am or 10am to prepare linen etc and finish at about 12.30pm. There can also be a requirement for general housekeeping around the venue as well.
Bar Staff £6.10 / hr upwards
Bar shifts usually start between 7 pm and 8 pm and finish between 11.30pm and 1am.
Overnight Clear Set Up £12 /hr
- Clearing up from event that has just finished
- Hoovering, cleaning toilets, mopping bar & kitchen
- Washing up
- Setting ceremony and tables for meal
- Setting breakfast tables
- Make sure outdoor areas are neat and tidy
- Shifts usually start around 11.30pm and last for 2-4 hours
